PESHAWAR: Armed men gunned down accounts officer of Fata Secretariat Ihsanullah Khan and his driver Khaista Rehman while they were going in a car.

An official of Bana Mani police station said that Asmatullah, son of the deceased Ihsanullah, had nominated five people in the case and said that the cause of the incident was an old dispute related to a woman.

Four of the suspects nominated in the case were identified as Idrees, Noorul Islam, Badrul Islam and Haqiqatul Islam. The official said that the officer and his driver were attacked with 9mm and 30 bore pistols.

Meanwhile, Peshawar police claimed to have recovered three kidnap victims, including a married woman, and arrested the alleged kidnappers from different areas here on Thursday.

Police spokesman Jalaluddin said that two people, including Malik Haroon and Malik Habibullah of Khanpur, Haripur district, had been kidnapped on April 30, 2014 and police were searching for their whereabouts in the province.

He said that the police conducted a raid at Aziz Factory in Hayatabad Industrial Estate on Thursday where they were tied with chains. He said that the police also arrested one Sheraz of Jamrud who disclosed the names of his accomplices. He said that the alleged kidnappers had demanded millions of rupees for release of the men.

The police also recovered a woman identified as wife of Dr Haroon of Peshtakhara. The pokesman said that the woman had been picked by armed men in a van on June 4, 2014 from a place near her house.
