KARACHI: Pakistan’s top junior cueist Mohammad Majid Ali punished Syrian Yazan Hadad straight 4-0 to maintain his unbeaten run in group B of the 15th Asian under-21 snooker championship in Indian city of Chandigarh on Monday.

Having won previous two matches by the identical score line of 4-0, Majid was home 79-30, 83-12, 55-20, 71-14 having bright chances of emerging group champion and stepping into knockout last 16 round.

He is slated to meet Iran’s Sanjai Amin in the last group fixture on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Hamza Akbar and Amir Tariq conjured up first victories in their respective groups. The former blanked Hong Kong’s Fung Chun Hin (Hong 87-22, 82-20, 92-2, 73-6 while the latter whipped Indian Kunal Kothekar 77-27, 80-9, 93-13, 55-52 which include two elegant breaks of 64 and 72 in the second and third frames respectively.
