I am from Calcutta. If one forgets a few professional sportspersons (Saurav Ganguly for instance) the people from the city have strong aversion to any sport and physical activity, unless you consider marching in the streets or running to see their IPL heroes as a sport activity! Sad, because some of India's greatest soccer players in the past came from here, including Chuni Goswami, P K Bannerjea and Balaram, who took the Indian soccer team to the Asian cup in the 1950s and the Olympic quarter final in 1956, where they lost to the Olympic champions Hungary. Calcutta now is all talk and no real play.

Wow !! Nice pictures. It is worth to check out the streets of Kerala during World Cup ! The road shows, where youngsters wear masks and jerseys sporting images of Neymar and Messi, the people celebrate like crazy !!
