ISLAMABAD, July 13: President Gen Pervez Musharraf will push for greater economic cooperation, solidarity and moderation in the Muslim countries during his visit to Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco starting Monday, sources close to the president said.

“The thrust of the president’s visit will be economic cooperation. However, he will also push for solidarity and the need for moderation in the Islamic world,” sources told Dawn.

This visit has been prompted by the recognition in the official policy-making circles that Pakistan needs to engage more at the highest political level with the Maghreb countries, remarked a senior official who told Dawn this trip was planned well ahead of the president’s visit to the US.
