'Cosplay' frenzy in Sydney

A three-day event in which thousands of fans dress up in “Cosplay”, showcasing the latest comic books, animation, cartoons, science-fiction, and console gaming, runs from June 13 to 15 at the Sydney Showgrounds. Cosplay, a craze that originated in Tokyo's fashion districts, has spawned a global cult following over the years, with youngsters from Thailand to Brazil slipping into their favourite fantasy alter-egos at mass conventions.
