KOHAT: Widening and repair of various important roads in the Kohat district has been included in the Annual Development Programme 2014-15.

The road linking Nizampur area of Nowshera with Kohat would be widened with the funds of MNA Sheharyar Afridi for the first time after its construction in past 65 years.

The people of Kohat and other southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been using the road as an alternative route to go to Peshawar or other northern parts of the province whenever Kohat-Peshawar road got closed.

Other road projects included in the ADP are: construction of Gulshanabad-Jarma road, a bypass, OTS road, widening of Bannu road and repair of Bilitang, Shakardarra, Spinkay Kalay, Sherkot-Hangu dual carriageway and widening of Bannu road up to Garrison Cadet College, Kohat. Money for these projects has been set aside from the funds of district development advisory committee chairman Ziaullah Bangash and provincial assembly deputy speaker, Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi.
