Has any independent journalist on the ground corroborated the numbers we are given as 'killed' and whether those killed were villagers (men, women and children) or if they were terrorists? If not, DAWN should do this. Otherwise, as they say, the first casualty of war is the truth.

Thank God that this operation, to clear our country of a menace, has finally got under way. I pray that our brave soldiers and airmen are kept out of harms way as much as possible.
May God protect the innocents, especially women and children..

The operation against militants and those providing them refuge is a need of hour. We can't move forward without eliminating terrorists and their supporters.

Please note why some of the map is red and some is yellow? Is the yellow part where the terrorists are?

Zarb-i-Azb is wrong. How can a Nation's army wage a war against it's own citizens, however wrong they are. Dialogue is a better solution.

Good effort! I must appreciate the trio who made a very good interactive map of conflict zone.
It is well known saying that there is always room for improvement. So the Dawn and the Team must add some more features. for example location of troops and enemy(no need to be precise). military assets like tank regiments artillery. And most importantly the recent movement of troops/enemy and wins and loses. area may be colored to show who controls the area.
I hope the Dawn team will work continuously to improve it further

Its very hard to put independent journalist in the conflict zone. However every effort should be made to ascertain the truth that is the first duty of a journalist/newspapers
