IT was totally unnecessary for the administration to budge and comply with the demand of Tahirul Qadri when he refused to disembark from the plane. Demanding military protection in the presence of police, ASF and Rangers is beyond comprehension and questionable.

Tahirul Qadri acted in a childish manner, demanding perks that he does not deserve. Besides, if he is a revolutionary and wishes to bring reforms for the betterment of the masses, he should have shown grace in his behaviour. Sincere and pious political leaders do not hide behind shields or seek protection. The prerequisite for a revolutionary leader is to be for the people and from the people, not one to be afraid of mingling with people.

Abolishing the Constitution and sacking everyone in the administration are tantamount to treason and he should be charged and tried for conspiring to create chaos and disturbance in Pakistan. I am very disappointed with his leadership, cognitive level, vision and objectives. The administration should stop spending national revenue on his protection.

His alliance with rejected political parties is indicative of his mental capabilities. I suggest that he should seek medical help to rectify his illusionary and hallucinating views so that he can see the reality of the political arena.

THE recent advent of ‘revolutionaries’ in Pakistan needs an analytical review. Darwin preached his theory of evolution, which the civilised world preached and practised. Revolution is another name for fiasco and anarchy. Lessons can be learnt from Egypt, Syria and Iran. In these countries, revolution was for the opportunist class, not for the public.

Our right-wing youth need to be taught through the basic curriculum how necessary it is to believe in democracy, tolerance and peaceful evolution and struggle rather than go for revolution on the demands of a few.
