LAHORE: Nespak, a government of Pakistan owned Engineering Consultancy Organisation, has claimed to have set all time high record of business acquisition for the 2013-14 fiscal.

“The company’s business acquisition both at national and international levels broke all previous records, bringing total revenue of Rs7.6 billion. The company has also made extensive penetration in the overseas market and now about 35 per cent of its total revenues is being generated from international projects in Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Afghanistan, Iran and Yemen,” a spokesman for Nespak said in a statement here on Friday.

He said strict adherence to austerity policy has resulted in about 20 per cent cut in routine expenditures as compared to spending of the previous year. There has been zero expenditure on purchase of vehicles while foreign visits by Nespak officials have been curtailed considerably.

The hiring of new staff as per project requirement has been made purely on merit. Only those employees have been promoted to next grades who showed outstanding performance, the spokesman said.
