KARACHI: Continuing their giant killing performance, the duo of Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Sajjad handed a stunning 4-1 defeat to Iran Two in the run up to the final of International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) team event in Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt, on Saturday night.

The defending champion pair are just a step away from making history if they succeed to retain the crown having won in the Irish city of Carlow last year.

The Pakistani pair surged 3-0 up against Iranian opponents before conceding a frame only to bounce back and clinch the next to wrap up the match.

Pakistan was home 87-27, 79-27, 75-42, 1-82, 53-47 in the best-of-seven frames semi-final.

The Iranian team comprised former world amateur snooker champion Hossein Vafaei Ayouri and Ehsan Heydari Nezhad.

At the time of filing this piece, Pakistan was up against Hong Kong One in the best-of-nine frames final.
