At least three suspected Taliban militants were killed in a US drone strike conducted in Afghanistan's Kunar province near the Pak-Afghan border region early on Monday, according to Afghan media reports.

Afghan website Khaama press quoted provincial security chief, Gen. Abdul Habib Syed Khel as confirming the deaths of three Taliban militants in the Sunday night strike in the Marawara district of eastern Kunar province which borders Pakistan.

Afghanistan and Pakistan typically blame each other for Taliban violence plaguing both sides of their porous border.
