AS the football world cup progresses, the world is glued to it.

This is probably the most watched sport globally. As a match is decided, the country that wins erupts in a national celebration.

The Pakistani nation too should celebrate the occasion. I could not help noticing that we are missing the opportunity of a lifetime by not getting our message across the globe that the footballs being kicked around the grounds of Brazil by the best players in the world (pun unintended) are ‘made in Pakistan’.

It is still not too late for the authorities to conduct a public relations campaign to bring Pakistan some much needed positive publicity.

There are three football fields in Hyderabad, which are not being maintained properly nor do they have the kind of turf on which football should be played.

I request the concerned authorities to look into the issue and ensure these grounds are properly cared for. I would also like to suggest the hiring of semi-professional trainers to promote football in this region of Sindh.
