Qadri vs govt

Published July 8, 2014

THERE are rumours about a grand alliance against the government. Dr Tahirul Qadri is engineering this alliance and expected allies are Chaudhry brothers and Shiekh Rasheed.

If this alliance is formed, will it be able to topple the government? I do not think so because the PTI has declined the offer to be part of this alliance, and the allies don’t have the capacity to topple the PML-N regime.

The government’s reaction to the expected alliance is off the mark and it is behaving in a manner as if it is about to be toppled by this alliance. If at all the government is overthrown, it will not be because of the alliance — but because of inept reaction.
