Pakistani actor and model Humaima Malik has claimed that she is the highest paid actress in Pakistan in an interview with Times of India (TOI).
Calling herself a self-made girl, the actress said she has never seen herself struggling or not getting opportunities.
Malik said she was only 14 when she became a top model in Pakistan and from then onwards, she began to endorse top brands.
At the age of 22, she was offered a role in Shoaib Mansoor’s film "Bol" who previously directed "Khuda Ke Liye" — which was both commercially successful and critically acclaimed. She was nominated for best actor for her role in several countries and eventually secured the Best Actress award at the London Asian Film Festival.
The 25-year-old said she has houses in Karachi, Dubai and London but mostly resides in Dubai with her parents.
Responding to whether she has been in a relationship, she said it was difficult to cope up with one being an actor as she was completely devoted to her work.
Citing her preferences for working with Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachan and Madhuri Dixit, she said she had grown up seeing Bachan’s acting whereas she underscored that Bollywood could never have a package like Madhuri again.

Why are we so cheap and arrogant that the only thing we can come up with when interviewing is "I am the highest paid actress in Pakistan". How cheap and how lowly. Also, is this a newsworthy item?. Having homes in Dubai, London and Pakistan is great but coming from one of the poorest countries in the world, are you trying to make 80% of Pakistanis feel small?. I am ashamed to belong to the same country she is from. I would be embarassed to even mention anything other than my qualifications and my hardwork.

Perhaps the reason the lack of humility.
Good for her to be one of the very few of a struggling economy who doesn't have to worry where her next job is coming from.
It is not just about success and fame - we have to learn to be able to have a sense of dignity and respect, in how we carry ourselves, how we are seen to the world as well, especially if one claims to have worked internationally using Pakistan's acclaim to fame.
Learn responsibility.

So typical bashing comments on any successful Pakistani working outside of Pakistan . People don't realize how difficult it is and how much hardwork they put in especially to come out of the bad image Pakistan has all over world.
Her intention was clear, that she at young age achieved the milestone than others. I don't find any wrong with it. If she can't be your role model, at least stop bashing.

When you boast about money - unintentionally or otherwise - in a country like Pakistan that has been going through a lot in the past decade, there is little room for applause no matter how well deserved.

It looks like a gimmick as she is trying to get a foothold in Bollywood. A sincere Pakistani would outrightly claim to be a PAKISTANI at heart and not hint at working with Bollywood stalwarts like Amitabh Bachhan and Madhuri Dixit, et al. She claims to be residing mainly in Dubai.....why?

The whole idea of my comment was to record my disgust at the insensitive comments from someon who is in a privileged position and rather than focusing on her educational qualifications and the hardwork she has put in to become what she has become, she has said things that are completely irrelevant to her being an actress. I really don't like it when Pakistanis make a fool of themselves and as a result make the whole nation look like "full of themselves" kind of people. Our culture and our traditions do not teach us to be arrogant about our money, good looks or the success.
