ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF) has decided to send four-member squad to Russia to take part in the World Judo Championship beginning from Aug 25.
Masood Ahmed, secretary General of the PJF, said that probables are getting training from Iranian coach Sajjad Kazmi at the Pakistan Sports Board’s training centre, Peshawar.
Pakistan players failed to show outstanding performance in the last World championship, but this time PJF secretary looked upbeat, saying: “Though, officially we are yet to select four-member team, I think Pakistan top-ranked Shah Hussain Shah and emerging youngster Ahmed Shahzad are strong contenders,” adding that all the stake holders were trying their level best to achieve good results.
Masood said that the squad will leave for Russia on Aug 22.
