BELO HORIZONTE: Germany won the first semifinal of the FIFA World Cup 2014 in a match that was a resounding defeat for Brazil with a score of 7-1.

Brazil's defence in Tuesday's match proved to be like a wall of sand, and the team showed a disappointing performance overall in the absence of striker Neymar and captain Thiago Silva.

Losing the match by such a big margin was completely unexpected and a huge blow for fans all over the world.

By the time the match ended, many in the stadium could be seen weeping.
