LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhry said the party’s Aug 14 ‘long march’ will overcome all hurdles allegedly being created by the PML-N government.
Speaking at a ceremony to distribute notifications to office-bearers of the PTI Minority Wing Punjab on Saturday, Chaudhry said PTI workers were determined and over a million of them would march on Islamabad.
Stating that holding a peaceful protest was their constitutional right, he claimed a minister had said the government would organise a function at D-Chowk.
Chaudhry said the PML-N government had not learnt its lesson from the Model Town incident. He said a first information report would be lodged against the government, impartial inquiries conducted and those responsible brought to book.
Chaudhry acknowledged PTI Minority Wing Punjab President Shunila Ruth’s assertion that 50,000 minority members would participate in the march. He also presented a resolution condemning Israeli attacks on unarmed Palestinians and demanded the world community, United Nations and OIC immediately ensure a halt to the violation of human rights and killings of Palestinians.
The newly notified PTI Minority Wing Punjab office-bearers included Mahinder Pal Singh and Tariq Javed (senior vice presidents), Philomena Bhatti, Nawal Kishore and Samar Nazar (vice presidents), Ijaz Alam (deputy general secretary), Arsalan William (joint secretary), Shahid Azeem (information secretary), S.M. Sabir (media secretary), Josephine (finance secretary), Sunil Arshad (youth secretary) and Farzana Bhatti (women secretary).
On this occasion, PPP President from Youhanabad Younas Fazal announced joining the PTI along with his supporters.

PMLN political muscle is huge. I think PTI is up for rude awakening. This is not good for PTI but PMLN has to get its people on road to stop these so called inquillabies.

@jack shah Unfortunately now members of PTI are spreading disinformation to meet their goals. PMLN have a proper minority wing. Do you know that PMLN have selected a Christian as one of the Federal Minister?. The Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping is Kamran Michael and he is a Christian.

Until these naunahal counter with similar move they cannot stop... though PMLN is in govt and restricted to take out procession but I think if they started coping them, no difficulties....these naunahal has no moral or character to do politics they only create problems on the streets and abuse others .... their attitude, language, postures everything is bazzaries ....

Not to suggest that PML-N and PPP are any good but as soon as charter of democracy was signed between the two major parties, the establishment threw a spanner in the form of IK's PTI in the works so that their option of overnight takeover remains alive. As soon as relations between civilian government and military establishment soured (actually PML-N government was wrong on Musharraf, NW, Geo, Defense minister appointment, etc.), the mantra of rigged elections was renewed hoping for a 1977-like takeover. After a few years when they get enough of military takeovers, PTI, PML-N, and PPP will sign a 3-way charter of democracy trying to block the way of military takeover. Then, another new political party chanting mantra of 3-way muk-mukkaa will be born and the cycle will be repeated.

The main demand of the "Long March" should be that Pakistan should get out of the "American War on Terror" which Pakistan was pushed into by the Former Military dictator, Musharraf. Musharraf helped USA to occupy a neighboring Muslim country [Afghanistan]. Imran Khan should be courageous to say NO to America and demand compensation for damages to property and lives caused by illegal US drone strikes.

Great news and excellent move by PTI. Please do not call it miority wing. Word minority is discriminatory itsself. Pakistanis from other faiths are true sons of the soil. They should be consulted over this word minority. No one in Pakistan should be called minority. ...I believe in total harmony among all faiths....

I had a lot of respect for Imran Khan. Now that he has joined hands with Chaudhries,Tuq and Shaikh Rasheed,I have no doubt that he must have lost people's confidence. He is just trying to create chaos in our country.
My advice to IK , please do some solid work in your KPK and then claim that you can do something for the country. I think you are failing in your province and now you are trying to divert attention of people of Pakistan from your KPK. One million man march is not a joke. Please use this one million man for constructive purpose. For example ask all these one millon man to plant one tree each near their homes on the 14th of Aug. We need trees and greenery in our beloved country. We need a Green Pakistan. May Allah save our country from all those people who are trying hard to make the lives of people miserable.

Honestly, the government in charge is never able to mobilise people. The case usually is that we elect people and then we are upset with them and justly so. Given the horrifying performance of PMLN, there is no reason for anyone but a few Gullu Butts here and there to come out in PMLN's start.
