OKARA: Police claim to have arrested two alleged terrorists and recovered explosives and other material from their possession to be used for acts of sabotage during the last 10 days of Ramazan and on Eid.

According to police sources, Hujra Shah Muqeem SHO Shahid Bhutta, along with his team conducted a raid at Qila Yousaf Bhatti and arrested an alleged terrorist Shan Iqbal.

On the information extracted from the arrested militant during interrogation, his accomplice Azad Khan was also arrested from his hideout near Chuhang, Lahore.

The police claimed to have recovered two bombs, hand grenades, detonators and some devices used in suicide jackets, along with explosive material, from the suspects.

The sources said Azad Khan disclosed to the joint investigation team that he joined a terrorist outfit to clear his debt through a 'recruiter' Amaanullah alias Sikander Khan.

He also admitted to have got terrorist training at Miramshah where he was paid Rs25,000 a month.

The sources said the suspects wanted to target religious places during the last 10 days of Ramazan and around Eid.

They said a small notebook recovered from the possession of Azad Khan contained his coded contacts.

They said the suspects would soon be shifted to Lahore for detailed interrogation, adding that police would also raid the places in the district where the suspects had been hiding.
