Faisalabad in semifinals

LAHORE, July  17: Faisalabad, Vehari, Rahimyar Khan and Muzaffargarh  qualified for the semifinals of the NBP-Punjab inter- district hockey championship at the National Hockey Stadium on Thursday.

The semifinals will be played on Friday.

Meanwhile, four more matches were decided on Thursday.

Rawalpindi defeated Miawanli 2-1.

Adnan Farooq and Ibrar scored a goal each for the winners. Shoaib stuck for the losers.

Narowal defeated Dera Ghazi Khan 3-1. Alamgir scored two goals while Ramzan a goal. For the losers the solitary goal came through Nasim.

Rahimyar Khan registered 2-0 win against Vehari  and qualified for the semifinal. But Vehari on better goal scoring average also made it to last four. Ahmad Rasool and Asif scored a goal each for the winners.

Taufique scored the solitary goal of the match to help Muzaffargarh beat Faisalabad 1-0.
