KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said on Friday that in addition to the ‘Green Line Bus Service’ promised for Karachi by the federal government, as announced by the prime minister during his recent visit to the metropolis, his government had undertaken a ‘Yellow Line’ bus rapid transit project.
The chief minister, who was responding to questions of media persons at the Iftar party hosted by Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani on the Sindh Assembly premises, said the government was aware of the acute transport problem in the city and had worked out a strategy to address it at the earliest. The ‘Yellow Line’ project would be one of the several metro bus projects for the citizens of Karachi which would operate from Korangi’s 8000 Road to the city centre.
He said any party introducing a modern transport system on a BOT basis would be given all facilities.
The chief minister said a small fleet of CNG buses was with the KMC, which would be soon on the roads.
