KOHAT: About 12 counters receiving public complaints on phone were opened at the Rescue 15 centre here on Friday for providing timely assistance to people.
Deputy inspector general of police, Kohat region, Dr Ishtiaq Marwat inaugurated the counters and asked the staff to assist public with politeness. He said that they should help the complainants in any case because Rescue 15 complaint centre was the last stop for people to get assistance.
He said that the assistance counters, which have been made operational, would get complaints regarding cases of robbery, extortion, missing of people etc. He said that awareness campaign about the facilities would be launched after Eidul Fitr so that people could benefit from the services.
The DIG said that the police had received complaints against Peshawar Electric Supply Company and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited to solve them on priority basis.
District police officer Saleem Marwat and head of the Rescue 15 inspector Ibrahimullah Khan were also present on the occasion.
TWO DROWN: Two boys drowned in a stream following flash flood near Sheikhan village here on Friday. The victims were identified as Hamza and Naseer. Local people later recovered their bodies.
Meanwhile, the police recovered a 10kg heavy bomb from mountains of Shadi Banda during interrogation of a murder case on Friday.
Sources said that police was investigating a murder case when the accused disclosed that they belonged to a banned outfit and had concealed a bomb in the mountains.
The police called the bomb disposal squad that found and defused the bomb. Police said that sections of terrorism act were added to the earlier FIR of murder case against the accused.
