SAHIWAL: A man along with his cousin and two other accomplices slit open wife’s throat in village 106/7-R Harrapa late on Tuesday night.

Reports said Rubina, 22, had contracted marriage with Maqsood of Khan Da Chak, Kamaliya, about three years back. Rubina gave birth to a girl baby two years after her marriage.

Ashiq Ali, father of Rubina, told reporters that Maqsood would often beat her daughter. Rubina returned to her parents’ house some two months back when she was again thrashed by her husband.

Maqsood asked his father-in-law to send back his wife. However, Rubina set a condition that she would return only when her husband gave a surety that he would not beat her again.

It is learnt that some two weeks back Maqsood threatened to divorce Rubina, but she stuck to her stance.

Ashiq told Harrapa police that late on Tuesday night Maqsood along with his cousin Nadeem and two other accomplices barged in his house and slaughtered Rubina. Sub-Inspector/Investigation Officer Mansha said the autopsy report confirmed that multiple knife injuries caused the death of Rubina. — Correspondent
