ISLAMABAD: Sticking to its stance, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) said on Sunday that it will hold its Azadi March on August 14 in Islamabad, against the alleged poll rigging – come what may.

A meeting of PTI’s coordination committee, under the supervision of Additional Secretary Saif Ullah Niazi, was held here to review the preparedness of the said march.

During the meeting, it was decided that the party workers from across the country, while removing all possible obstacles, will reach in Islamabad.

It was also decided that the party will establish a special control room to monitor Azadi March, white the party activists will motivate the people at Union Council-level to participate in the march.

Later on, Mr Niazi said in a press statement that the government should not invoke Article 245, saying that using the Army for political purposes is dangerous for the country. Army is a national institution and not a tool for the government to use it against the political opponents, he said.

It is relevant to note here that the government, while invoking Article 245 of the Constitution, has already called in the Army in the federal capital for security purposes.

However, PTI claims that the government is using the army for political motives.
