GLASGOW: After an impressive run in Commonwealth Games underway in Glasgow, Pakistani pugilist Mohammad Waseem lost his final bout to Australian boxer Andrew Molony on Saturday.
The loss means that Waseem will clinch the silver medal.

Mohammed Waseem is our hero for reaching the final based on raw talent, spirit, and enthusiasm and no or limited support and training from Govt of Pakistan. Well done Waseem! Congratulation!

Australians are tough people. If you look at their cricket team you will see their builds. You need to have strong body and technique to best them.

compare the support and training Moloney would have got in Australia, with the virtually nothing support from Pakistan in terms of training. This was never going to be a fair contest in that sense. Waseem has shown himself to be a great boxer regardless.

Technically Waseem played too defensive which led to his loss. In 3 round match one has to play very aggressive & offensive, Congratulation to him on winning silver medal. Pakistan has potential of producing good boxers provided the game is taken seriously by the sports ministry. Like squash boxing also flourished on individual interest & efforts.

I think it was a close fight as the judges decision was 29-28, 29-28 and 29-28 in favour of Molony. Considering Mohammad Waseem and his opponent, Waseem has come a big way to an international arena and he has really made us proud.
P.S. some pointy ears person in the comments has suggested that Waseem is British. However, Spock's claim is untrue. He hails from Quetta

Tragedy? What are you talking about man. It is sports. We are talking about sports. One wins other loses. It is not the end of life.

Great performance by Waseem. He was robbed of gold medal. Judges and refrees, all were unfair and biased.
