LAHORE: In a press conference held Tuesday night, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri said that It is unfortunate the prime minister made no mention of Model Town tragedy deaths in his address to the nation.

"The prime minister spoke a great deal about progress being made in the country, but failed to mention anything about the Model Town tragedy," the PAT chief said.

He said a member of the PAT had died of a heart attack as medical aid could not reach him due to blockades all over the city.

"Democracy is not merely the name of elections, it is the fulfillment of basic human rights," Qadri said.
