A NEW class of drivers has emerged in Karachi, known as the double cabin class. These people are usually influential persons or their young offspring (without even a driving licence) who travel in a double-cabin four-wheel drive with tinted glasses and are accompanied by three to four guards, sitting on the deck at the back of the vehicle.

They violate all the traffic laws, do not stop on signals, drive on the wrong side of the road, negotiate a turn with full speed without giving any indication light and so on. In addition, the guards sitting on the deck misbehave and harass drivers and the passengers of other vehicles.

They hit a vehicle and drive away without looking back.

The traffic police watch as spectators. Can the city administration or the provincial government take notice of this mess?
