RAJANPUR: At least seven people were killed and several others injured in a clash between two groups from the Bugti tribe on Saturday in the area of Barro that lies along the Punjab-Balochistan border.

Firing continued periodically in the area between the two clashing groups and there was no police activity reported in response to the incident.

According to sources, the fighting was the result of a dispute over storage of rain water.

Inspector General Punjab Police Mushtaq Sukhera took notice of the incident and directed District Police Officer of Rajanpur Zahid Mehmood to immediately reach the area.

Barro is barren area situated near the Border Military Police (BMP) check post where clashes over sharing of water resources are common and have claimed many lives.
