PML-N meeting rejects Imran Khan's demands

ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting summoned by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif ended at the Prime Minister House, during which Imran Khan's demands were rejected and termed as 'illegal' and 'unconstitutional.'
The meeting was attended by key federal ministers and leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) and discussed the country's prevailing situation in context of sit-ins called by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
After the meeting a spokesperson of the Prime Minister House said that "Imran Khan through his demands, which were unconstititional, wanted confrontation with the government."
The spokesperson severely criticised the 'civil disobedience movement' launched by the PTI chief and termed it as being against the state of Pakistan.
Credible sources told Dawn that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had instructed Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to beef up security of key government installations situated in and around Constititional avenue in the federal capital city, which is now known as Red Zone area.
The federal interior minister was also advised that security of government installations should be ensured at all costs and those violating the law should be dealt with iron hands.

This is a classic example for dysfunctional state. All these folks are fighting for power. Nobody really care about important issues such as lawlessness, un-equality and justice. Imran Khan should have said, if you don't fix Pakistan, I will people of Pakistan to stand up against coward and cheap Pakistani elites...but it seems ike nobody has a will power to stand up against these cronies.

See the difference here is that when IK says unconstitutional and illegal, he backs up his argument with logic and statistics.
For Nawaz, "unconstitutional" is an umbrella term which covers anyone speaking against anything/everything he's so obviously done wrong. How long til he uses "blasphemy" as a cover? Geez!

Thank Allah that the Qadri and IK drama is finished. The biggest loser is Imran Khan. I was a very staunch supporter of Imran Khan, but now I am totally against him. I am sure he must have lost a lot of his supporters by staging this drama with the dishonest scholar TUQ. My advice to IK, please go home and try to build some respect by working hard in KPK. Now you have no other way to get respect. This is your last choice, and if you fail in KPK, I can assure you you will not even get one seat in the next election.

Speechless, not expecting this from any patriotic pakistani. There are ways to correct the things but not civil disobedience. We gained independence from colonial power in 1947 so dont take us back to that era

Na waz sharif is right and imran khan is demanding wrong. Imran khan is wrong in civil disobediency .Imran khan is showing immaturity. Now imran khan wants that somebody from government come and talk. Imran khan is saying that please come please come and talk to me I am tired too much I can't stay more than 48 hours

It has been the history of Pakistani corrupt government that they never leave by constitutional( i.e. rigged election not acceptable) and peaceful means.
Nawaz and shahbaz are wanted in model town killing of innocent Pakistanis. Imran had tried each and every legal means to get justice but unfortunately corruption has created obstacle for Pakistani to get their rights,
Nawaz may want to check which flights are available for Jeddah

I can't understand what the government is in a tizzy about. They are legally on solid ground, politically untouchable and the crowd numbers are nothing that a few well directed cold water blasts and tear gas can't take care of. They just have to hold their nerve and let the virus run itself out. In fact, they should provide the crowds all the facilities needed to aid their stay and make their cause even more meaningless.

In Pakistan, politics has nothing to do with serving the public, but everything to do with getting on to the gravy train. I am trying to figure out why the people of a poverty stricken country would choose leaders who are corrupt to the core; whose only purpose in life is to stay at the helm, to milk the country dry. Even corrupt leaders can be forgiven if they can deliver on something like law and order and the economy. Pakistan keeps slipping backwards in world rankings on human development; the miseries keep piling up, yet the masses will vote these guys in. Imran should leave politics and move to England and let the people learn the hard way.

The constitution of Pakistan is not Quran or the word of God. It is written, edited and passed by politicians of all sorts. It is a legal instrument, therefore, highly subjective and open to interpretation.
One can easily twist and spin the words to prove treason or no treason.
In this instance, Imran is upholding the values of constitution. What has he done so wrong to upset so many here ? The amount of propaganda against him and TUQ is shameful.
PML N has committed their biggest blunder in model town, but this time, they have met their match.
The current system is running unconstitutionally due to severe corruption at all levels. You can never work under such a system and expect miracles to change economy. It has o be uprooted and disinfected from all corrupt politicians. Imran and TUQ have this genuine cause, either support them or forever you will lament this moment.

I have commented earlier that leadership failures lead to such situations, Instead of being confrontational and egoist and power hungry, coungtry leadership must come foreward and negotiate peacefully the current stand off. Otherwise, things will turn ugly and democracy will no longer stand on its feet. IK and Dr Qadri and others have reasons to protests. There are pakistani citizens on the street. Even if there are few, it is the responsibility and duty of the government to address their grievences. So do not blame others.

Power struggle not for the ordinary citizen but to grab the top slot to display and capture whatever is left by the looters of national wealth. Only TUQ has supported his cause with facts and figures for the eyeopner. It will be blessing if could achieve his target. Rests are junks of show biz.

The most important speech of Khan's career was a tantrum. It seems to me that by the end of his two-day deadline he will be addressing a crowd of five people and telling then to stop wearing clothes. You can then buy free clothes from Qadri and live in darkness due to nonpayment of bills.
