QUETTA: Police and the Bomb Disposal Squad personnel foiled an attempt to attack a government installation by defusing an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Sariab Road area on Saturday night.

Saboteurs placed the IED in a rickshaw and parked it near a transmitter of Radio Pakistan in Musa Colony area of Sariab.

“The IED was fitted in a petrol canister,” a senior police official said.

Acting on intelligence, a police team reached the spot where the three-wheelers stood and called in the Bomb Disposal Squad personnel who defused the IED.

No arrest was reported and the matter was under investigation.
