PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have asked Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri to end sit-ins in Islamabad otherwise they will be responsible for the increasing economic problems in the country.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, QWP district general secretary Saifullah Khan expressed grave concern over devaluation of rupee against dollar. He said that economy of the country would suffer heavily owing to ‘Azadi’ and ‘Inqilab’ sit-ins in Islamabad if government failed to find a solution to the current situation.

Mr Saifullah said that the sit-ins staged by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) in Islamabad had disturbed and confused the nation.

The QWP leader said that the sit-ins were affecting the economy of the country badly. The government should bring an end to the unconstitutional practices, he added.

QWP asks govt to find solution to current political crisis

Mr Saifullah said that economy of the country was on the decline and it was duty of the government to find a suitable solution to the problem. He said that the sit-ins had created tension for the entire nation. Substantial increase was witnessed in the prices of daily use items owing to blockade of roads, he added.

The QWP leader held PTI and PAT responsible for the price hike and unrest in the country. He termed the sit-ins unconstitutional and undemocratic, saying workers of PTI and PAT had besieged the parliament for last 13 days and created problems for people in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Mr Saifullah said that PTI and PAT were hatching conspiracies against the government by holding sit-ins in the name of change and revolution.

He said that the demand of PTI about resignation of prime minister was childish and unacceptable. He said that anti-democracy forces would not succeed in their nefarious designs.

The QWP leader said that national economy suffered losses of billion of rupees owing to the current political crisis caused by the sit-ins.

He said that people were facing shortages of food items. People were compelled to purchase the commodities at higher rates owing to hurdles in supply of goods, he added.

Mr Saifullah demanded of PTI and PAT to end their sit-ins in the best interest of the country and people.

Similarly, PML-N provincial information secretary Nasir Khan Musazai has said that Imran Khan is demanding of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign but he has failed to convince his party MNAs to resign from the parliament.

Talking to journalists, he said that formation of forward bloc in PTI was a proof that the party had lost control over its workers and it had no right to stick to its bizarre demands. “If a man is unable to bring discipline in his own party then how he can point a finger at others,” he said and added that Imran Khan was unable to bring any positive change and just dodged the youth.

Mr Musazai asked Imran Khan to wait till completion of the government’s constitutional tenure and focus on development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as Pakhtuns had voted him to power for bringing positive changes.
