KARACHI: At least two policemen were killed when unknown assailants opened fire at them in Karachi’s Malir Town.

Both the officials were performing their duties when they were attacked in the Bakra Mandi area of Malir Town.

Subsequently, rescue workers rushed to the site of the incident and shifted the injured to Jinnah Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

After the incident, police reached the crime scene and started an investigation.

The tally of policemen killed in this year has reached 127.

Karachi, the largest metropolitan city of Pakistan, is riddled with targeted killings, gang wars, kidnappings for ransom, extortion and terrorism.
