KARACHI: At least two people were killed and 10 others were injured in two separate accidents in Karachi on Thursday.

A woman was killed and 10 others were injured when a passenger bus overturned in the 36B area of Karachi's Landhi.

Rescue teams rushed to the site of the incident and shifted the injured to the Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre. Two of the injured were in a critical condition, hospital sources said.

Separately, one person was killed in a head-on collision between two vehicles near the Northern Bypass.

Subsequently, the body of the deceased was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Pakistan has one of the world’s worst records for fatal traffic accidents, blamed on poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.
