KARACHI: PPP Senator Rehman Malik has said that the jirga of political parties working for the resumption of dialogue between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek has received good response.

Mr Malik, who came here on Thursday for a brief visit, was talking to journalists at a hotel.

In reply to a question, he said consensus had almost been reached on all demands of PTI and PAT except the one relating to the resignation of the prime minister.

Earlier, according to informed sources, Mr Malik called on Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and informed him about the progress achieved by the jirga in its negotiations.

Mr Malik said MQM legislators should not quit assemblies and urged Altaf Hussain to revisit his decision in this regard.
