Hate attacks against Muslims after beheadings of US journalists

NEW YORK: Since the beheadings of two American journalists by the Islamic State (IS), Muslims living in Bay Ridge area of Brooklyn have been threatened by extremist hate groups, New York’s media reported on Thursday.
On Wednesday two advocates of Arab civil rights were attacked by a man who shouted anti-Arab epithets and threatened to behead one of them, reports say.
A women interviewed on TV said some miscreants carrying Israeli flags attacked grocery stores belonging to Arabs and threatened them.
On Thursday the New York police charged Brian Boshell with menacing and aggravated harassment as a hate crime and criminal possession of weapon, the New York Daily News reported.

Linda Sarsour, 34, the director of the Arab-American Association of New York, said that Boshell threatened her and threw a trash can at her and her deputy.
“My deputy director and I were harassed and assaulted by a bigoted drunk who hurled hateful Islamophobic and anti-Arab epithets at us on 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge, (Brooklyn) “Sarsour posted on Facebook.” He said, ‘you are cutting people’s heads off [you prostitute.] I’m going to cut off your head and see how your people will feel, you Arab bitch’ and plenty more after that.”
She said that the police were initially slow to respond but later the “top brass” with the New York City Police Department “stepped up” and the suspect was apprehended, reports say.

Unfortunately, this is going to happen more often in the future because terrorism is not going to stop any time soon and neither is the aggression by the west against Muslim States. So "tit for tat" incidents will continue to increase and ordinary civilians on either side will be the real victims.

Pakistanis should not be surprised when others mistreat Muslims in their countries. They have themselves lighted the path of persecution by religious and sectarian laws and active persecution of others in their bastion of Islam. It is a shame that the followers of Mohammad PBUH have fell so deep into abyss that they will not be owned by their own prophet on the day of the judgement.

We have brought this upon ourselves. No other religious group in the world (besides us Muslims) kills innocent people and then tries to justify it as a religious duty. We have thrown ourselves to the depths of bigotry, ignorance and extremism.
On top of that we have the nerve to blame others for our idiotic actions stemming from our twisted world view and extremist interpretation of religion.

Now it's time for this community to wage a war against these miscreants start spreding love across the globe... But unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be happening. This hatred can only stop if all Muslim majority nations demonstrate visible love towards it's minorities (in action & not words). This means equal status, allow other religious structures, remove unfair blasphemy rules and essentially enable minorities to thrive. Before you rebut my argument, (think) I hardly see any Hindu's in leadership positions in Pakistan. This is not the case in India and Bangladesh. Kindness & love over a sustained period will completely change rest of the worlds outlook towards Islam.

I live in New York & notice a distinct feeling amongst Americans against Muslims although it is not openly reflected in New York which has a highly mixed population. However as one travels to little more conservative part of US, the feeling against Muslims in general is quite intense & is quite openly visible.
It is for the Muslim society in USA & more importantly outside USA to reduce the level of radicalization & violence which is cause for such hatred commonly visible in USA & elsewhere.

A simple answer to your statement, " I hardly see any Hindu's in leadership positions in Pakistan" is:
Pakistan is one of two States only in the World which came into being on the basis of Religion (the other is the State of Israel) and its Constitution states that the laws will be enacted in accordance with or not in divergence from the Quran & Sunnah or Islamic (Shariah) Law. How do you , then, expect a PM or the President or the Chief Justice of the SC or the Commander-in-Chief to be from a non-Muslim denomination; other than these posts, Hindu's and Christian's or even Parsi's are not restricted from taking up any other posts (in theory and law, as a minimum)!

This paper reports that Akbar Kumaili and a Sikh Trader were gunned down in Pakistan. The 2 women, in USA, were just shouted at and not hurt. The beheadings of two American journalists is barbaric and is an unforgiveable sin. Let us condemn all the acts.
