SWABI: Peshawar Electric Supply Company chief executive Tariq Sadozai has approved installation of a power feeder in Kaddi village here.

The feeder will be installed at the cost of over Rs7.3 million under the ELR Programme of the federal government, says a Pesco notification.

The people have welcomed the development saying the feeder’s installation will help end power tripping during summer season and thus, ensuring smooth electric supply to them.

They said a local jirga comprising elders had persuaded the top Pesco bosses to approve the facility for the area.


Work on facility to cost over Rs7.3 million


Meanwhile, jirga members gathered in Kaddi village on Monday and expressed pleasure over the Pesco move.

Jirga member Haji Mazeed Khan said villagers expected the immediate start of work on the feeder.

“We hope the feeder will be functional by the end of the imminent winter season,” he said.

Other speakers, including Faizul Hayat, Mohammad Farooq, Maulana Attaur Rehman and Farman Ali, highlighted the importance of feeder for smooth electric supply and said the facility would help end excessive loadshedding, overbilling, power tripping and power breakdowns.

They said villagers would offer every possible support and cooperation to the Pesco for early completion of the project.

WOMAN BEATEN TO DEATH: A woman was allegedly beaten to death by in-laws in Yar Hussain village here on Monday.

The police said the woman had told them before succumbing to her injuries in the hospital that she had suffered critical injuries after her father-in-law, Shah Zaman, and brothers-in-law, Lal Zaman and Mohammad Zaman, severely thrashed her over a domestic issue.

The woman said her husband, Ghulam Zaman, had shifted her to the hospital.

The police said they had registered a case against the three suspects and began investigation.

They, however, said no arrests were made by night.
