MITHI: Three people on their way to a religious gathering near Diplo were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with a mini-truck on Naokot-Diplo Road on Tuesday.

The victims were identified as Sajjad Samoon, 32, who was driving the car, Sunil Kumar, 25, son of Sarup Chand, and Naresh Kumar, 30, son of Pitambar. They were residents of Tando Bago and intended to attend a mela at the Parbraham Faqir shrine near Diplo town.

The bodies were taken to the Mithi Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination before being handed over to the heirs.

BADIN: All three occupants of the car died on the spot while two occupants of the mini-truck, Zafar parho and Bilawal Parho, were injured in the accident that took place at the Paloro bus stop.

The deceased victims were residents of Samaro town of Umerkot district.

The Hindu victims had come to Tando Bago to visit the shrine.

The injured occupants of the mini-truck were shifted to the Diplo Taluka Hospital.
