KOHAT: Unknown tribesmen from Orakzai Agency kidnapped five shepherds from the mountain of adjacent Ibraheemzai town in Hangu on Wednesday, police said.

They confirmed that five shepherds, including Kamran, Madad Shah, Asim, Nawazish Ali and Mohammad Baqir, were abducted when they were grazing cattle in the mountain.

They said that the mountain had unmarked boundary between Hangu and Orakzai Agency and sometimes shepherds from Ibraheemzai and other places entered the tribal territory by mistake. Such incidents have also occurred in the area in past.

DENTAL INSTITUTE: The Khyber Institute of Dental Sciences has been shifted to the building of Frontier Education Foundation (FEF) academy ending the three years old controversy among MPs and the government. Earlier, the institute had no permanent place and students moved from one building to another for taking classes.

The students had no laboratory, separate classrooms and essential equipment required for practical training due to absence of separate building.

Meanwhile, Khyber Medical University vice-chancellor Dr Hafeez Khan has started equipping the dental institute. The work on construction of classrooms and laboratories was under way while order for 150 dental chairs had also been placed.

The MPs from Kohat had opposed to move the FEF academy from its old building and demanded construction of a new dental college building. There were also rumours that FEF academy was being shifted by the government to Peshawar.

Later, it was decided that a new building would be constructed to house the FEF academy in KDA instead of shifting the dentistry college to the new building, because completion of a new building would take time.
