SANGHAR, Aug 31: The professors, lecturers and parents have sent an appeal for help to the provincial ombudsman for the resolution of the grievances and hardships faced by the students at the hands of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad; the health department, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro; and the Bahria Foundation, which conducts entrance tests.

They have mentioned in the appeal that the BISE, Hyderabad, announced the results of Class XII on Aug 20 but thousands of students had not received their marks sheets and matric certificates, which are a compulsory requirement to be submitted with the admission forms.

The students and their parents are running from pillar to post to obtain the mark sheets and certificates, which only the rich and influential people have been able to get.

They have appealed that the last date be extended by at least three weeks.

They have expressed concern regarding the time allotted for entrance tests where only 37.9 seconds have been allotted for dealing with each physics problem.

They urged the ombudsman to intervene in the matter regarding entrance tests at the Cadet College Petaro, while in the past the test had been held at the Public School Hyderabad for years.

It may be noted that the entrance test for admissions to the Cadet College Petaro had always been conducted at Hyderabad for the convenience of students.

Those students who owned cars or lived around Hyderabad could reach Petaro easily, but it would be impossible as well as costly for those who lived in far-flung areas.
