JIT formed to probe terror charges against Imran, Qadri starts work
ISLAMABAD: A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to probe terrorism charges against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri started its work on Monday.
The team which is being headed by SP Saddar Captain (retd) Elias Ahmed includes SP City Mustansar Feroze, an SDPO Secretariat and an SHO Secretariat as well as representatives from the Inter-Services Intelligence and the Intelligence Bureau.
The team started its work today after a notification was issued in this respect.

Imran and Qadri were booked under the anti-terrorist act on September 1, days after protesters in Islamabad attempted to attack the Parliament and entered its precincts. The First Information Report against the PTI chairman and the PAT chief was registered on behalf of the government.
Both Imran and Qadri have been holding protest sit-ins in the capital since August 14 with their parties demanding the prime minister’s resignation and a re-election in the country.
