Pakistan retained the women's Twenty20 cricket gold medal at the Asian Games on Friday by defeating spirited Bangladesh in a rain-affected final.
Pakistan, electing to bat after winning the toss, were restricted to 97-6 by the steady Bangladeshi bowling attack. Bismah Maroof top-scored with 24 and leg-spinner Rumana Ahmed claimed two wickets for 13 runs.

Congrats Green Team!! Well done. Very proud of you. And SHAME on PTV Sports and Geo Sports for not broadcasting the final at least!! If this was the mens team, winning a second consecutive Asian Championship (which has never happened - them winning 2 games in a row alone is a big deal!!)

@SMQ Zaman They have won a test against professional England's women's recently. A test that they played after 8 years. Pakistan is not even a test side. It's unfortunate that BCCI does not send them to Asian Games just because it does not financial benefit to them. But India women is winning medals after medals in Asian Games. Check out the medal tally. We just won 15 medals yesterday. And 2 so far today. How many has Pakistan won so far?

@Ali Our girls won a "test". If it was not cricket, you wouldn't even have been commenting here. Interestingly, there is not a single comment or praise on the page, for the guy, who won the first medal for Pakistan in these Asian Games. Guys grow up!

@Ajay Ladkani And I think neither did Sri Lanka.Correct me If I am wrong. It was meant to encourage cricket in Asia. Hence Teams like India or Srilanka chose to stay away so that teams like China Japan Korea etc get a chance. Now that was good time for Pakistan to sneak a medal.:-)
