SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Asif says the federal government will take legal action against PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday (today) over the illegal electricity connections at their residences in Islamabad, Lahore and Multan, saying that several illegal electricity connections being used by both the PTI leaders have been detected.

He was talking to the media at his residence in Sialkot Cantt here on Sunday.

The minister said that having several electricity connections (more than one connection) at the same place was illegal. He said three illegally installed electricity connections each were detected at the residences of Imran Khan at Bani Gala, Islamabad, and Zaman Park, Lahore, while Shah Mehmood Qureshi had got eight electricity connections illegally installed at his residence in Multan.

Mr Asif said the government had planned a strategy to take necessary legal action against both Imran and Qureshi for having illegal electricity connections.

“Monday (today) will be a working day and government will definitely take necessary action against them,” he added.

He revealed Imran was fooling the masses by telling them false stories every day, saying it had become the PTI chief’s habit to say “the umpire is ready to raise his finger”. He said there was no umpire at all, saying Imran Khan was cheating the masses and shattering their trust badly.

Replying to a question, he said the PML-N had learnt a lot of lessons from the past political mistakes.
