ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri claimed on Thursday that the government had offered Rs5 million to the families of every individual killed in the Model Town incident in Lahore on June 17.

“Despite the government’s offer, the families of the victims refused to take blood money,” he said.

He claimed that 30 PAT supporters had lost their lives during the ongoing movement against the government. “We will avenge the martyrs of the revolution and will not breathe easy until revolution sweeps the country,” he said.

The PAT chief said the nation wanted to kick out the ruling party. “We have two goals; one is ‘Go Nawaz go’ and the second is ‘Go Nizam go’,” he said.

From his own container on D-Chowk, PTI Chairman Imran Khan predicted that his party would break all its previous attendance records at its gathering in Multan on Friday.

“The PPP, even if it throws all its weight behind the ruling PML-N, cannot stop ‘Naya Pakistan’ from coming into being,” Mr Khan said in reply to Asif Ali Zardari’s claim that he (Imran) was a political ‘bubble’ that will burst soon.
