GWADAR: A police officer was killed and his young son injured in an attack in Singani-Sar area of Turbat in Kech district on Friday.

Police sources said unidentified men opened fire on Mohammad Murad Buledi, a station house officer in Panjgur, and fled. Mr Buledi died on the spot. His 10-year-old son who suffered bullet injuries was admitted to a hospital in Turbat.

“It was a targeted killing,” said a police officer, adding that Mr Buledi was in Turbat to celebrate Eid with his family.

Meanwhile, robbers killed a man and injured another in Panjgur town.


Police term it ‘a targeted killing’


Police said that robbers entered a bank branch and asked the staff to hand over the cash. When two people present there offered resistance, they were fired upon. As a result, one man was killed and the other suffered injuries.

The robbers then escaped, without taking the money.

The deceased was identified Aftab Ahmed.

The injured was taken to a hospital in Panjgur.
