ISLAMABAD: At last long the Estate Wing of Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started taking possession of land for the Kuri Model Village project.

As a first step, it razed 10 built-up properties of the owners in Kuri and Rehara where the model village and Park Enclave housing project are planned.

“Compensation would be paid under 1968 award to those who hand over their built-up property to CDA for demolition,” the official of the Estate wing said.

The property of all the locals will be demolished simultaneously as they are allotted plots in Kuri Model Village.

The CDA had acquired 2900 acres of land in 1968. However, when the Park Enclave was launched the landholders of Kuri village moved court and got stay.

The court vacated the stay order on October 15 this year and the CDA started clearing the area,” said Asim Khichi, the CDA spokesman.

To ensure that work at Park Enclave continued without hindrance, the contractor deployed heavy machinery to start developing infrastructure at the site.

CDA expects to complete the infrastructure development of Park Enclave within one year
