MUZAFFARABAD: At least 10 people were killed and several others injured on Tuesday when a van plunged into a ravine in Muzaffarabad.

The vehicle was traveling from Jagharan to Kundil Shahi when the accident occurred. According to initial reports, the incident occurred due to the uneven roads and mountainous tracks.

Police personnel and rescue teams rushed to the site of the accident and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.

Pakistan has one of the world’s worst records for fatal traffic accidents, blamed on poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.
