Don't get us wrong – we love uber patriotic and successful Shaan and absolutely adore Fawad Afzal Khan, but variety is said to be the spice of life and it wouldn't hurt for our new bevy of local directors to give other good-looking and talented actors a shot on the big screen.

Here is our list of the top five Pakistani TV actors whose faces should feature on the silver screen:

Adeel Hussain

Kicking off his career with CityFM89 and appearing in commercials - as well as directing them - Adeel Hussain has come a long way.

With his roles in the critically acclaimed Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu and Mohabat Subh Ka Sitara Hai, he has established himself as a commendable actor in the industry.

Although he's only done a handful of drama serials, with his Latin-esque looks and enormous talent, lets hope it won't be long before he appears on the big screen.

Mikaal Zulfiqar

This model-turned-actor first appeared in Abrar Ul Haq's video of 'Sanu Tere Naal Pyar Ho Gaya.'

Mikaal is a fan favourite for his splendid performances in Pakistani drama serials including Shehr e Zaat, Izteraab, Laa and Mohabat Subh Ka Sitara Hai.

Although he has done over 15 drama serials and has worked in Bollywood films like Shoot on Sight and U R My Jaan, he still hasn't made his mark with a local film.

With his boyish good looks and great acting, it's hight time he lands a film project in Pakistan.

Noor Hasan Rizvi

Noor Hasan has instant recall as the detestable Khizar from his debut role in Humsafar, but he is much more than pure evil.

His recent role in Aseer Zaadi as rebellious Shahaab, the son of a great peer, got him a lot of attention. He has proved that he can play the hero and an abhorrent villain equally well.

His drama Kuch Is Terha got him nominated in the Best Actor (Terrestrial) category of the Lux Style Awards so yes, he undoubtedly has the potential to be a breakthrough film star.

Jibran Syed

If you hate Jibran Syed for his menacing smile in Chup Raho, then he's probably doing a great job.

He started off with TV drama Hook on PTV and was later cast in popular dramas Chaand Pe Dastak, Khuda Zameen Se Gaya Nahi Hai, Qaid-e-Tanhai, Meray Charagar and Tum Ho Kay Chup. Jibran's character Numair in Chup Raho has been his shining moment to date.

Jibran can play the perfect villain in our film industry where currently Shamoon Abbasi and Shafqat Cheema are the default, and slightly overused options.

Shehroze Sabzwari

Shehroze Sabzwari's acting skills speak well for his talented genes.

Son of veteran actor Bahroze Subwari, Shehroze started off as a child star in his uncle Javed Sheikh’s film, Khulay Aasman Ke Neeche.

He later proved himself in much lauded roles in dramas like Vanee, Badtameez, Karachi High, Don’t Jealous and Parsa and was recently seen in Kahani Raima Aur Manahil Ki and Aahista Aahista on HUM TV.

This cherub-faced actor is definitely fit for a chocolate hero role on the silver screen.
