The seventh installment in the Fast and Furious series will be hitting theaters next year. The first official trailer released for the movie pans out at over two minutes giving fans a lot to be excited about.

The movie picks up where Fast and Furious 6 left off: after defeating Owen Shaw's gang, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O'Conner (the late Paul Walker), along with their crew return to the United States in hopes of leading a normal life. However things take a turn for the ugly when Ian Shaw (Jason Statham) comes looking for them as he seeks revenge for the death of his brother.

The action packed trailer shows the Toretto posse jumping out of a plane in cars in typical Fast and Furious fashion. The trailer reveals little about the plot except to confirm that Statham's role will be a negative one.

The trailer mostly shows a handful of unbelievable stunts and highlights some great action sequences by the ensemble cast and especially Paul Walker, a beautiful tribute to the actor who tragically passed away last year in a car accident.

The trailer concludes with Toretto saying, "I don't have friends. I got family."

The cast includes Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges in prominent roles, among others. The film was written by Chris Morgan and directed by James Wan.

.Furious 7 was filmed in Los Angeles, Canada, Japan and Abu Dhabi and is slated for release on April 3 2015.

Fans are anxiously counting down the days:
