Sorry ladies, you might still be coming to terms with George Clooney’s wedding, but Benedict Cumberbatch just got whisked away by director and actor Sophie Hunter.
The 38-year-old actor took the traditional route of revealing his engagement by publishing the announcement in the classified section of The Times.
“The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London,” read the classified.

According to the Guardian, the duo kept their relationship out of the limelight and were only confirmed as a couple after they were pictured together earlier this year.
A well-known actor and theatre artist, Cumberbatch shot to fame with his immaculate portrayal of a modern day Sherlock Holmes in the popular BBC series Sherlock.
The actor has since appeared in high profile roles such as in 12 Years a Slave as a slave owner and recently as the British mathematician and logician Alan Turing in his biopic The Imitation Game, due to release on November 14.
According to The Independent, Sophie Hunter studied modern language at Oxford and co-starred with Cumberbatch in 2009 film Burlesque Fairytales.
The 36-year-old is known for her direction of various theatricals like the New York production of Benjamin Britten’s opera "The Rape of Lucretia" and the African tour of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "The Magic Flute" among others. Hunter also received Samuel Beckett Award for writing and directing the play "The Terrific Electric".
