KARACHI: A suspected robber was beaten to death by an angry mob in Surjani Town on Thursday night, police said.

Three suspects tried to snatch cash and other valuables from a man in Taiser Town, Sector-51, who happened to be armed with a pistol. The man took out his gun and shot at and wounded one of the robbers who fell down, said Karachi west SSP Irfan Baloch.

His two suspects managed to flee. In the meantime, a crowd gathered there and beat the wounded suspect to death.

The body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. His identity could not be ascertained immediately.

Young woman found dead

A young woman was found shot dead in Ibrahim Hyderi on Thursday, the police said.

They added that the body of woman in her early 30s was found at the beach near Ali Akbar Shah Goth. A single bullet was shot at her head. The body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

Later, it was taken to the Edhi morgue for want of identification.

Guard kills teenager

A teenage boy was shot dead allegedly by a private security guard in New Karachi on Thursday.

The guard identified as Amir of the Ayaz Security Company killed the teenager near the Power House in Sector-11-L, said Gulberg SP Chaudhry Asad Ali. The police officer added that around 18-year-old boy, whose identity remained unclear, was working as a ‘helper’ of the guard.

The body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Man kills mother-in-law

A 40-year-old woman was shot dead allegedly by her son-in-law over a domestic dispute in Quaidabad, said the police.

They added that the suspect identified as Raees killed Gohar Taj in her home in Muslimabad Colony.

The suspect managed to escape. The police said the suspect was married to 17-year-old Sofia. She was staying with her mother after developing some differences with her husband and the dispute ultimately led to the murder.
