LAHORE: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) emir Sirajul Haq has condemned the killing of a Christian couple saying no one has the right to take law in his hand.
He was addressing a gathering at Aiwan-i-Adl on Monday to seek support of lawyers for JI movement “Tehreek-i-Pakistan” going to be launched on Nov 21 from Minar-i-Pakistan.
He said the incident of Kot Radha Kishan had tarnished the image of Muslims as a whole and strengthened the anti-Pakistan forces.
“No one has right to take individual decisions and throwing the Christian couple into a brick kiln is condemnable and such a gory incident cannot be tolerated in civilised societies,” he said.
He said Pakistan was facing problems as there was no rule of law but rule of rulers.
Condemning the Model Town incident, he said getting an FIR registered was still a big deal in our society. He regretted that aggrieved of the incident had to stage sit-ins at Islamabad for registration of an FIR.
He also sought support of the lawyers community for the JI movement.
